Construction for Corridor H

Below are pictures of Corridor H’s current construction. If built along ROPA, Corridor H would transform daily life in Tucker County. From Parsons to Thomas, you’ll face constant construction stoppages as crews carve the highway up Backbone Mountain. Heavy machinery would dominate 219 for years. In Thomas, the Allegheny Highlands Rail Trail and Douglas Road would become active work zones, and a proposed Truck Bypass around the town ensures long stops and constant noise. Driving from Thomas to Davis would mean navigating more stops at the new 32/48 interchange, plus ongoing construction all around. Assuming a “swift” completion time of five years, Tucker County’s economy will be set back at the least, forever wounded at the most.
