Tell Governor Morrisey to Go North

Corridor H has been planned for decades, but the route currently moving forward in Tucker County would take it straight through Blackwater Canyon, one of West Virginia’s most loved and economically important natural areas. That alignment is based on a proposal from more than 60 years ago, and a lot has changed since then.
Today, the region supports a thriving outdoor economy, draws more than a million visitors each year, and sustains local communities in towns like Thomas and Davis. Building a four-lane highway through the canyon would bring years of construction and lasting changes to the landscape, nearby communities, and local businesses. It also raises real questions about water quality due to historic underground mining in the area. This isn’t about stopping Corridor H. It’s about how it’s completed.
There is another option. A Northern Route would meet transportation needs while avoiding Blackwater Canyon and protecting what makes this region unique. With more than 3,000 West Virginians already speaking out, there is still time to take a closer look at the path forward.
